VR Design Studio (aka UC-win/Road) Named Winner of Prestigious Japanese Manufacturer Award
FORUM8’s VR Design Studio Software has been named as a winner in the “Connected Industries – outstanding collaboration” category in this year’s Monodzukuri (Manufacturing) Nippon Grand Awards.
Organised collectively by the Japanese Government’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) together with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and The Japan Machinery Federation the awards recognise innovative individuals and companies that have created unique solutions to major manufacturing challenges and have made a significant impact on Japanese culture and industries.
Established in 2005 the bi-annual awards aim to recognise cutting-edge technologies to encourage manufacturing excellence and innovation in the country’s future generations and to showcase Japanese achievements to a global audience.
VR Design Studio also known as UC-win/Road, is widely used throughout the world by architects, engineers, town planners, transport authorities as well as university research departments and vehicle manufacturers to create dynamic, highly photo-realistic 3D virtual reality models of the built environment.
Amongst its many advanced features UC-win/Road provides an open-data collaboration platform to enable close cooperation and communication between stakeholders involved in the planning and development process for major infrastructure and drive simulation projects. Presented by Japan’s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, the award ceremony will be held at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo on January 27, 2020.
